Placer Academy Cup - 2008

The rescheduled Academy Cup was held the weekend of August 16th & 17th. The tournament was a great deal of fun and provided some excellent soccer with some of the top U10 teams in the area competing for the second annual Academy Cup.

The Championship game was contested by the Placer United Copa team and Santa Clara Sporting. Both teams topped their qualifying groups with a total of 9 points conceding just 2 goals each along the way.

The final was an exciting game with both teams having chances. The game ended goalless and went to penalties, with Santa Clara edging out the Placer team and winning 3 - 1 on penalty kicks.
